Big Game Hunting

I have been a licensed outfitter and
guide in the Lee Metcalf Wilderness since 1978.
Utilizing both horses and mules we will travel into prime hunting
areas. During the day we hunt by foot using the horses to move from
one area to the next. In the evenings we return to the ranch for hot
showers, home-cooked meals, and inviting warm cabins.
Our success rate ranges from 50 - 80% depending on the year and clients'
physical abilities. 27% of the bulls harvested are in the 280 to 320
BC range. This percentage is based on a week's hunt with five full
days of hunting. Our staff is comprised of licensed guides and seasoned hunters
with over 50 years of guiding experience collectively. This
knowledge provides a wealth of information to pull from for a successful hunt.
Recommended Hunting Gear
Hunting license, pocket flashlight, knife, firearm and ammo, matches and fire
starter, wool socks, pants, and hat, boots with at least 600 grams of
thinsulate and air bob or vibram soles, water bottle, warm coat and gloves,
sunglasses, 400 square inches of hunter's orange.
